Expertise

Industry specialisation has become our hallmark and our greatest strength. But specialising in finance, law and corporate communications is no longer enough. Today, we’re setting our sights on an even greater ambition: taking the leading position and staying there, by strengthening and honing our offering. How do we plan to achieve this? By offering you an increasing range of services and further strengthening our expertise. In order to offer tailored solutions to each of our clients, we’re currently expanding our in-house team of translators. A bigger team of in-house legal and financial experts means greater precision and quicker turnaround times for your French and English projects, tapping into our most valuable asset: our employees!

Quality

When it comes to translation, we leave nothing to chance. On a daily basis, our translators discuss technical points amongst themselves and with clients, scour references and seek out relevant information in order to ensure perfect accuracy and consistency. Our work is only done when all colours of the linguistic palette have been explored, blended and tested, in order to identify the most precise nuance and ensure the most accurate translation.

Our CERTITRAD certification, issued by Bureau Veritas and renewed every three years, bears witness to our high quality standards. It is also the guarantee of our total commitment to your project’s success.

Teamwork

Communication means sharing. Our translation teams are constantly discussing the meaning of a sentence, the choice of a term, the reliability of a reference document, the nuance of a word or the phrasing of an expression. They are more than happy to discuss terminology with you, confirm your preferences or make alternative suggestions.

A flair for writing

In addition to their legal and financial expertise, our translators are talented writers with a flair for creating natural, flowing, idiomatic texts. They consciously aim to produce work that doesn’t “read like a translation”. Whatever the target language, our teams will take the utmost care to conserve every aspect of your message.

Customer service

Customer service is a core feature of our industry and sector, of particular importance in the field of legal and financial translation. This involves responsiveness (swift dispatch of quote and creation of team for your project), availability (evenings or weekends), adaptability (offer tailored to your specifications), an open ear (our translators are available to answer your questions, discuss terminology and stylistic choices and develop their knowledge in order to deal with your project) and the confidential processing of your data.

Our freelance network

Around one hundred carefully screened freelancers, professionals from the world of finance (former bankers, accountants, analysts, journalists, etc.) or law (former in-house corporate lawyers, attorneys, etc.) who harness their professional and linguistic expertise in order to translate your projects into their mother tongue. We also call upon translation professionals specialised in our fields of expertise.

How do we choose our suppliers?

  • We receive and analyse CVs from professional translators on a regular basis. We also carry out targeted, proactive searches for translators on dedicated websites in order to identify potential candidates, who must meet our highly stringent criteria (former financial or legal professionals, or recognised translators with extensive experience in the financial and legal fields). We then ask them to complete a translation test for us.

  • The tests are proofread by our expert in-house translators or, for languages other than French and English, by appropriately qualified members of our freelance network. Tests are assessed on the basis of style, precision of terminology, spelling, grammar, correspondence between source and target and the translator’s ability to find intelligent solutions to linguistic challenges.

  • If their test is accepted, translators are then interviewed by phone in order to assess their capacity to fulfil our project requirements (on-time delivery, workload, software used, rates, etc.).

  • If a translator passes every step of the selection process, he or she signs a non-disclosure agreement (in compliance with Certitrad standards) and is then added to our network. Our project coordinators are informed of the translator’s inclusion in our database and will initially send them small projects in order to complete the testing process. They are then gradually integrated into our team of experts.

  • If a translator who has been tested and selected no longer meets our criteria in terms of quality or reliability, they are struck off our database.
